Warren “Whitey” Macauley

Warren “Whitey” Macauley

Whitey was man in motion: soccer was a perfect fit. He played for Frankford High School and was State Champion goalie. Later he played with a neighborhood league. He’d continue to play until his Uncle called him to serve in Korea. When he returned home he again played in a Northeast Philadelphia league.
Whitey had a feel for all things mechanical and he put his abilities to work at Soabar Printing. His creative juices were always flowing. When a problem occurred with a printing machine Whitey had it back up and running lickety split. His retirement from Soabar was short lived as another firm, Rotometrics, snatched him right up to become their plant manager.
It was easy to find his former home in Cinnaminson; you just had to look for the perfect lawn. Perhaps his love for manicured grass lead to his fascination with playing golf. Unable to ever sit still he found the time to restore a car with his son and do a little traveling. He and his wife, Joan saw the four corners of the world: Turkey, Egypt, Africa, Hawaii. Their best trip ever was to Hong Kong. Later years found them living at Four Seasons in Woolwich Twp.
In addition to his wife, Joan (nee McTamney), Whitey is survived by a daughter, Pam Hays (Ken) and a son, Craig, and grandchildren: Brian and Cale (Keirstin) Hays and Justin and Jake Macauley.

Whitey was one of the nicest men I have ever known. He is in a better place now but I still miss him. I am sure Joan misses him terribly. May God bless the whole family,

The biggest smile in the room belonged to Whitey! A truly delightful “guy”, Whitey was the life of every party… You are missed. God bless the family, his friends, and may his soul rest in peace.

  3. Mari-Carroll says:

Whitey lit up the room with his smile! Even with his dementia, he was always a gentleman. Whitey had a kindness to him that I will always remember. He will be truly missed.

All I can say is that I loved everything about Whitey! The first time I met him and Joan I knew they were a wonderful couple and he was always laughing and smiling and would light up a room. He was a wonderful man and he adored his wife Joan. It is a sad loss for anyone who knew him especially Joan and his family. You will always be remembered in our hearts! May God Bless Joan and their family!
