Vince never minded being the life of the party. In fact, there were few things he enjoyed more than having “porch parties” with his neighbors in Delran. Gathering on his, or one of their porches for cake in the afternoon often turned into social affairs that lasted for hours. It gave the neighborhood a sense of community, but also reflected Vince’s social nature. As a foreman for Meredith Paving, he always took his job seriously. Even the local inspectors knew this; when they saw him on a job they already figured the road would be laid to the proper specks. When it was time to relax he could usually be found on his trike. Whether he was using it for a local parade, driving it to NY for a 9/11 memorial or just having a leisurely drive he was always up for a ride. But his favorite was to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to spoil them with money and candy. And when it came to the granddaughters, he’d think nothing of sitting down to have a tea party with them.rnrn Vince is survived by his wife, Frances (nee Convery) of Delran, his sons, Vincent Michael of GA. and Thomas F. (Danielle) of Delran, his grandchildren: Alexia, Cassandra, Dennis, Cheyenne, Dakota, Alyssa and Andy as well by his 4 great-grandchildren.rnrn Vince’s 65 wonderful years (Jan. 1, 1947-May 3, 2012) were celebrated privately by his family. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ. Arrangements by the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. rn

Words can’t express how sorry Bill and I are to read of Vince’s passing. During these past few months he was very upbeat and possitive for his recovery. I remember especially at one of the football games in Palmeyra riding up on his trike.rn Quite a few times he was there in the past when my old car wasn’t working you sent him around to my house to make sure I got to work on time.rn I know he will be terribly missed by you Fran, his family and friends.rnrn Our deepest sympathy,rn Jane & Bill Pittman
Dear Fran,rnMy condloences to you and your family. Vince was a cousin of mine we didnt see each other as often as we should have.God choose different paths for us in life. but we were always cousin. Vinces obituary summed it up about him. One of the things I remeber most was you and Vince at my wedding, you both danced the entire time. My husband and I always say out of all the people there you guys we think enjoyed yourselves more than everyone. Take care Fran and God bless you and your family. I’m so grateful to have known Vince – his smile and his joy for life was so welcomed in this very hectic world. We do miss him so.
