Russell Leone

Russell Leone

Though he was most known as a tough kid, you’d never forget his hug. No grass grew under his cleats, Russell was a boy in motion. Handing him the ball was most likely good for 6. His room full of trophies was testament to his skill in a singlet and head gear. Some of his more cerebral pursuits included playing the piano and trumpet; he brought home perfect grades. He once played the piano on stage at Rowan University with the Olde Town Music group.

Russell is the beloved son of April and Russell; greatest brother of Billy, June, and Joey; dear Grandson of Frank and Carol Mongiello, and Russell and Muriel Leone, and Great-grandson of Barbara Cameli and Mary Mongiello.

Come celebrate 11 athletic years, Sunday 4-6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 140 Broad Street Swedesboro. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery.

To the Leone Family words can’t express how sorry we are for your loss. We are all devastated by the loss of Russell! For everyone who has know him he has touched our lives in some way. I will also remember him running around the wrestling room with all the boys and acting crazy!! He always had a curtain smile on his face when you asked him “what are you do”!!!! He was a great boy and a joy to be around! He always knew what to do to make someone laugh or how to pump one of his teammates up before a match!! He will be truly missed by all! God bless and we are all thinking of you!!! Always remember you have a “Special Angel” looking down on all of you!!

    To the Leone Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Please remember, you may not be able to now grasp young Russell’s love with your hands, or see it with your eyes, but you will forever feel it in your hearts.
May you have peace in your hearts.

We can’t begin to imagine what your life is like right now. Nor do we know what to say or do to offer help. But be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God grant you grace and strength to get though these difficult days and may He help you find peace and a way to move forward in the coming days, months and years. Now when you need it most, keep the faith. Know that Russell is with the Lord and that he will be eternally in your hearts. May God Bless you.
