Peter J. Wolf

Peter J. Wolf

Pete enjoyed the world, loved the sea, the flowers, the birds, he loved his family and his little house.

He traveled extensively sailing the Caribbean, the Greek islands, climbing the pyramids in Egypt and tasting the wine in Italy. Pete served our nation stateside in the Army. And he was always happy to be home.

He taught his children how to ski, ride bikes, ice-skate, and drive a car; he was a strict father but he always wanted his girls to be the best versions of themselves. Pete enjoyed making his home and world beautiful – planting flowers, manicuring the lawn, renovating rooms, and carving fine art at his work bench. He had a curiosity and a quest for knowledge; reading when he couldn’t figure something out. In his early years, when he had free time he’d pile the kids in the car and head off for camping adventures. He was always up for an adventure. One vacation found him sailing in Greece; Pete, Lilly and some friends were captain and crew. When he was young, he wasn’t fond of the shore and the sand, but after he moved there, he loved it. His porch faced the setting sun.

Lillian and he shared 33 years of marriage, 22 of them side by side in their Westville Grove Insurance agency. He is survived by daughters: Cheri Solometo (Steven), Annette Colace (Thomas), Lori Sanders (Michael) and Gail Kosyla (Philip Wursta), Kimberly Voorhees (Garrett Lewis); 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Come celebrate 84 great years Wednesday June 5, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Church, 130 Broad Street, Swedesboro NJ, with an 11 a.m. Mass. In lieu of flowers donations to Holy Redeemer Hospice (holyredeemer.com) will be appreciated.

I could say a lot of nice things about Pete. But probably the best thing that I could say about him is what I would consider the highest compliment: He was a good man!
    With Love , Phil

I only met Mr. Wolf a few times and did not know him that well. I do know that he was a handsome man and was the father to 4 Gorgeous daughters! After seeing pictures of Mr. Wolf who always seemed to be SMILING, I now understand where the beautiful smiles of his Daughters and his Grandchildren come from – what a great Gift! Rest in Peace Mr. Wolf and may you continue to Smile down on all your family and friends.

We spend time as co-workers, but the best was the friendship. Many years ago I introduced him to our beautiful friend, Lillian. We will remember him as a kind soul. Our hearts go out to Lillian and family, may you find peace and joy in your memories and God Bless.

He was a man with a chest, full of virtue and enterprise. He was handy and fun, he hunted and shot sporting clays, and knew a classic cocktail. He could (tell a well-timed joke … we’re being proper here) with the best of them. Those sporting clay guys are all gone now and he was one of the most fun. His grandson James goes hunting now, and shoots sporting clays, and is perfecting his grandfather’s, let’s say … sassiness. So the tradition lives on. And so does the family proboscis. (Sorry James) RIP Pete.

I am fortunate to have been able to call Pete friend. He was a terrific neighbor and friend for close to two decades. Always quick to lend a helping hand , or offer sound advice in many walks of life. Every so often we’re giving a blessing to have known a person with the qualities and ethics Pete possessed. I was so blessed. I will miss my friend.

Uncle Pete was a the perfect match for our Aunt Lil, so glad they had so many years of happiness together. He was so much like her father a serious man on the outside with a quick wit and a heart of gold. Prayers and blessings for your loss.
