Madeline Veronica

Madeline Veronica passed away peacefully at her home Voorhees, NJ on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 with her loving husband of 57 years, by her side.

Born on March 24, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Mildred and Howard Daughton. A graduate of Woodlawn High School, Madeline worked as a secretary for a local company until the day she met the love of her life, Louis A. Veronica. Nine months later they were married on May 28, 1966, and moved to Haddonfield, NJ and welcomed the first of 4 daughters; Michelle followed by Dana, Jenny and Rebecca.

Madeline thrived as wife and mother/homemaker to her growing family while Lou built a successful local law practice. Always an active mother and homemaker, she balanced volunteering at the girls’ schools with carpooling to local community causes and serving a homecooked meal each night. Madeline built a lifelong, intimate network of friends from Haddonfield to Stone Harbor to Bonita Springs FL and was loved by all for her candid opinions, humor, and wit. Madeline enjoyed gardening, taking care of animals in need, travel, golf with Lou and winters in Florida. Later in life, she found her true calling as “Grandmom” to Aiden, Lily and Megyn, who she adored.

Madeline is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 57 years, Lou; daughters Michelle, Dana (Aaron Bobrove), Jennifer Reeves (Brian), and Rebecca (Mark Meadowcroft) and grandchildren; Aiden, Lillian, and Megyn Reeves. She is survived by a sister, Lynn Grap of Ellicott City, Maryland.

Family will receive visitors and friends Friday March 10, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Haddonfield, where there will be a 12pm memorial service in Madeline’s honor. A private burial will take place at a later date for immediate family.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Madeline’s honor to Animal Welfare Assoc. of Voorhees (awanj.org).
