Josephine Stanton (nee Grasso)

Josephine Stanton (nee Grasso)

If you ran into Josie you’d find her dressed to the nines, hair and makeup perfect. But her real love in life was animals. If Josie drove past a dog without a doghouse, it would have one the next day; she paid for many a cat and dog to get neutered and spayed and, if nothing else, she made sure they were all fed. Much of her time was spent volunteering at local shelters. Earlier years found her working as a executive secretary for Himont in Delaware. Her retirement gave her the time to travel with friends: Italy, Portugal and virtually anywhere overseas. And her love of the casinos probably dated to poker games of her youth around the family kitchen table. She was born and raised in Penns Grove, NJ and graduated from Goldey Beacom College.

She is survived by her sisters, Anna Mangano (John), Frances Borregine, Rose Marie Overton (Bob) and her brother, Joseph Grasso (Cindy).

Come celebrate 82 great years Thursday June 13 from 10-11 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro, NJ where there will be an 11 a.m. service. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Woolwich
