Joseph P Hoffecker

Joseph P Hoffecker

The noted American psychologist Carl Rogers once noted “I prize the privilege of being alone”. Of much the same spirit, Joe didn’t need everyone under the sun around him to enjoy a day. He was content to enjoy certain things on his own. He could regularly be found playing his guitar, and although he wasn’t from Liverpool his songs were inspired enough that some in his family referred to him as the Fifth Beatle. He was always up for taking in a movie, but if it was up to him, they’d all be action flicks. But when he wasn’t relaxing he’d have a welding torch in his hand. He could weld just about anything, and he enjoyed the tools of the trade almost as much as the job itself. Joe collected any tool he could, and he even collected photos of the ones he hoped to someday work with. rnJoe is survived by his children: Lisa DeRosa, Michael Hoffecker (Christina) and Michelle Trani (Robert), his grandchildren: Anthony, Gina, Dominic, Mariah, Gianna, Arielle and Christopher. He is the brother of Eddie Hoffecker and Arlene Berryann. He was predeceased by his parents: Helen and Charles Hoffecker, and his brothers: James and John Hoffecker, Sr. rnRelatives and friends are invited to join the family from 6-8 PM Saturday at the Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro St. Riverside, NJ. rn

My sympathies to the Hoffecker family concerning the recent death of Joey. I have many childhood memories growing up in Palmyra and having Joey and Eddie as best friends in Elementary school. We both came over from Phila. They were like my extended brothers because I always stayed over their house and hung out alot with them. Good friendships from the past. May God bless them.
