Joseph C Sarbello

Joseph C Sarbello

From the time he could crawl, Joe’s hands were in the dirt. Working the farm with his Dad was a labor of love. Rows had to be straight; no weeds were allowed. His produce, 300 acres of vegetables, were the best you could get. rnIn his younger years Joe and his late Dad, Sam, had horses. That’s when his affection for cowboy boots started. He needed them for riding and barrel racing but they, along with his silver belt buckle, became his signature attire. Joe was an impeccable dresser.rnHe gave back to his community. He spent 16 years on Woolwich Township Committee, the last two as Mayor.rnLater years found him refusing to enter old age peacefully. Double hip replacement couldn’t stop him from donning a do-rag and heading out for a cross country trip on his motorcycle. It was great until the bike broke down in Amarillo, TX; Joe flew home but vowed he’d do it again. His favorite toy was his 42 ft. Regal Cruiser that he captained between Cape May and Florida. rnHe is survived by his wife, Judith , a daughter, Terry (Keith) Fulmer, son Joe (Donna), brothers: Salvatore (Ruth), Fred (Linda) and John (Maureen), 5 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.rnCome celebrate 73 great years Monday 6 to 8 PM and between 9 and 10AM Tuesday at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Swedesboro. rn I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the entire family;especialy to Kim Albertson.I work with Kim on a daily basis and shall always recall how she always spoke about her father in terms of love and admiration.I never met Joe but feel like I did.Kim told me about the times on the farm and all the fun she had helping with the work.I can relate to that since my maternal grandfather farmed close to that area in a town named Repaupo.I know the feeling of needing to get ones hands in the earth!May he rest in peace.
