Janis Brown

Janis Brown

Janis Brown, beloved sister, aunt, friend and coworker, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Friends, family and co-workers with unsolvable problems knew where to turn: Janis lived her life to find solutions. The life of the party, she entertained at gatherings, playing her guitar and singing; Janis had written most of the songs. If the Yankees took the field Janis was either in the stands or watching on TV (an outlier in Phillies Country). A true lover of America’s Game, Janis saw nearly every stadium in the country. She was the quintessential middle child — a peacekeeper, the voice of reason. Most days found her working as a marketing researcher for L.H.K Partners in Newtown Square, PA.

She is survived by her siblings, Robin Miskimins and Russell (Susan) Brown; nieces, Stacy (Ivan) McWhorter, Katie (Dax) Tripp, Kelly (Seth) Chrastil; great nephews, Riley and Jackson McWhorter; great niece, Adelyn Tripp; and her lifelong friend, Stephanie Engel. She was pre-deceased by Tyler Brown, her nephew.

Come celebrate 61 great years Tuesday, August 28 at Daley Life Celebration Studio. Viewing will begin at 10 AM followed by a service at 11 AM. Interment Lake Park Cemetery, Swedesboro. In lieu of flowers donations honoring Janis can be made to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html) or Best Friends Animal Society (bestfriends.org).

Our hearts go out to Janis’s family and friends at this time of great loss. Janis had a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. She was always a joy to be around. We are proud of her for fighting the good fight and are glad to know she is out of pain. We pray that everyone finds comfort in the memories they have made with Janis and focus on the good times. We are more National League than American League fans, but I hope the Yankees do their part for Janis and make the play-offs.
