James P. Clemente

James P. Clemente

Jim was born at Mae Haffeys in Swedesboro and raised on Pitman Street in Penns Grove: lots of kids and cousins around the corner. Just the kind of place to hone his personality. Jim was outgoing and generous to a fault.. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. When he was done his service he joined the family firm, Clemente Transit Mix, and became the general manager of Clemente Transit Mix and Vice President of A. Clemente Inc. But, of course his real talent was to inspire his workers.

He’d meet a girl named Carmen. It’s tough to tell what Jim loved more, Carmen or her family. In any case, he never smiled more broadly than when he traveled back to her native Mexico. Jim is survived by a daughter, Jill Rafine, sister, Lillian Vasta, brothers ; Anthony (Judy), and Phillip (Eleanor), grandchildren, Sidney and Piper Rafine and many nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his first wife, Loretta Brandt Clemente.

Come celebrate 81 years Saturday, July 16 from noon at St. Joseph’s Church Swedesboro where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m.
