Never was there a function at Trinity Episcopal Church that didn‘t find her on the committee. Grace was a permanent kitchen staff member and spent many a long hour prepping for the annual Christmas Bazaar. She had joined the church in 1947 and served as a Vestryperson and with the Ladies’ Guild. How there was time for Grace to be president of the Woolwich Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary is a anyone’s guess. But she didn’t just play a role in Swedesboro’s organizations: any kid that needed a place to stay or looked hungry was always welcome in Graces’ home.

A trip to Franklinville Roller Rink became more than just a night out. That’s where a young Grace DeCastro met her late husband, Jack. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Jack Jr. (Mindy) and daughter, Joanne, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Grace was pre deceased by daughter, Jacqueline DeVault and 2 grandsons, David Noll and Michael Miller, a brother, Joseph Thomas, sisters, Dorothy Burke, Beatrice DeCastro, Helen Carty and her twin, Ruth Shrader.
Come celebrate 87 giving years Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio where the service will be at 11a.m. Burial Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery.

I love you mom, you really were the best, with an “ill knock you up side the head!” Whenever i screwed up, followed by an explanation of how i should of done it, and a hug. And some encoraging wisdom. And if that didnt sink in, she would knock me upside the head! In a loving way of corse. She was always ready to help anyone that needed it, Always kept her house spotless. Martha Stewart could’nt hold a candle to Gracey. Dozens of church cook recepies were moms. Her father inlaw was always well taken care by her in his later years, as mom insisted he remain living with us till the end. When one of her younger sisters had problems dealing with her mental health, and when i came down sick with rumatic fever, She herself looked through medical books for answers. She even told Dr. Lintz that were not quiting till i find the problem, and the cure! And they did. She was just the greatest mom ever, and im gonna miss her every single day untill we meet again in heven.
