George Paul Fishel

George Paul Fishel

In February 1975 I met George in Bermuda where he was stationed at the Naval base. We were later married in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 6, 1978. He became a father to Patrick and Shanda who he later adopted and grandfather to Tajee ,Shonneil, Zarrin, Alante, Mia, and Sage. He continued his Navel career for 21 years then retired. The Navy became our lives until retirement. Then he joined CHOP and kept the heating and cooling systems humming and collected another family of friends.
George was a good friend to many. He had a special way with people. He was compassionate, kind, and always willing to help others.
He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his grandkids. They became his life. He will be missed deeply and forever loved.
We have to mention his love for his cats. His favorite was Tommie then Charlie. After their deaths he was undecided about getting another. He had his eye on another cat named Cloud. He fell in love with her and brought her home 2 months ago. But he just had to have Oreo to be Cloud’s buddy. Together both of them are so happy and loved.
George is survived by his loving wife Denise, son, Patrick (wife Contay), daughter, Shanda, stepchildren: Dean, Andrew (wife Selena), Herbie (wife Carla), Robin, David, brothers: E. Carl 3rd, Charles and Richard, sister, Patricia Shelton and 6 grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his parents, Elmer Carl, Jr. and Mary Frances Fishel and brothers, John and Timothy.
George had a host of wonderful friends, especially Chip Moeinere who he considered a brother.
We offer a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Samaritan Hospice, the Seventh Day Adventist Church and Grace Baptist Church.
Anyone wanting the make a donation in memory of George can send to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
Come celebrate 59 great years Saturday 10-11 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, where there will be a service at 11 a.m. Interment private.

My uncle was fun to be around. He went shopping for my clothes, outfits, and everything, and he loved to tease me. I will miss him deeply.

    I’ll not grieve for you,
God wanted you now so he set you free.
    The Family chain is broken
    and nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
    The chain will link again.
Gods blessed you and will continue to bless you
    We will miss you,
    Carl and Laura Fishel
