F Steven Meddick

Steve did not have to search for anything he needed; it was all in his home. Nothing was more important to him. In fact, “Family First” was his motto. His children, on their birthdays, would awake to special messages he’d left on the refrigerator and any purchase or home project was done solely with thoughts of how the children would enjoy them. When the kids took up soccer, he was the first in line to coach the team. But his love of sports was always apparent. He brought the Little League Charter back to Swedesboro, and served as its president for several years. His sense of civic duty led him to become the youngest councilperson ever in Swedesboro. rnAlthough his Bachelor’s from Drexel helped him become CFO of Parke Bank in Sewell, his time in school yielded more than the degree. Struggling with accounting, he found help in his study partner, Renetta (nee Glass). It would not be long till their relationship left the classroom. Together their lives were blessed with those he loved best, his children: Erin Meddick-Trexler, Steven, Jr. and Brian, and his grandson, Gabriel Trexler. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Meddick; brothers: John (Lisa), Jerry and a sister, Iantha (Pat) Burch.rnCome celebrate 55 family centered years Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Highway, Swedesboro.
