Elizabeth Edge Leonard

If it can be said that the truly fashionable are beyond fashion, then it can be said of Betty. From the days of her youth when she was less a Betty and more a Liz Taylor to when, even in her 80s she wouldn’t leave her bedroom without her hair and makeup just right, she always looked her best. She had a knack for keeping her appearance current, but when it came to dancing she always loved to jitterbug. She could often be found cutting a rug at the AC Club, the PAC, the VFW or the Moose. But when she came home to Edgewater Park, it was always to a meticulously clean house. There was never a dust bunny to be found, every appliance still looked brand new, and when you came in it was best to leave your shoes outside. Regardless, her home was never complete without the grandkids. More than a doting grandmother, to Betty every one of her grandchildren was gorgeous, beautiful and precious. rnrnBetty is the wife of the late James Leonard, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage before his passing in 2000. She is survived by her children: Bob Donahue (Liann) of Delanco, Susan Donahue of Edgewater Park, Cindy Donahue of Delran and Bruce (Roxanne) of Delanco, grandchildren: Steve, Cristy, Casey, Angela, Caribeth, Melissa, Stacey, Carly, Lauren, and Corey. as well as by her 6 great-grandchildren, her brother Jack Edge (Maria) of Beverly and her sister Sandy Rossi (Wally) of Mt. laurel.rnrnCome celebrate Betty’s 82 well-dressed years (July 29, 1928-July 15, 2011) Wednesday from 9 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at 11. I miss her everyday and its been six months. I CANNOT say enough about how WONDERFUL Michael and Natalie were and still are today. They made things seem so much less sad(if that makes sense)with the way they do things. Especially the little details-things you dont even think about. One of the hardest days of my life and Mike and Nat have made missing her a little easier!
