Edwin “Bubs” Pippitt

Edwin “Bubs” Pippitt

Ed loved doing for others; he was a generous guy. Most everyone he saw on his visits to the VA Hospital was handed a candybar. Pretty girls got two. He was always quick with little witticisms: “Patience is wonderful, especially if you’re a doctor”. In his role as Pop-Pop he enjoyed attending the grandkids’ ball games, folding chair in hand. He collected stamps and coins and salt water fished in LBI. Earlier years found him building houses alongside his father, Clarence and working for U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills.

A young woman, Trudy Bauer was a patient in a hospital in Trenton, when a couple was admitted with minor injuries from an accident. The young man wrote a note to his girlfriend who was sharing the room with Trudy and had his friend, Ed deliver it. True to his word, he delivered the note and met Trudy in the process. Before long, the two were wed. Together their lives were blessed by their children: Mark Pippitt (Carolyn) of Massachusetts and Edwina “Wynne” Pfeffer (Fred) of Riverside, as well as their grandchildren: Erin Donnelly (David Goldstein), Brendan Donnelly (Elizabeth), Holly Anne Fleiss (Alexander) and Laurie E. Pippitt as well as by their great-grandchildren, Audrey and Addison Hogge, and Ava Goldstein. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret “Peg” Millerline of Arkansas.

Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church (St. Peter’s Site), Riverside. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
