Diana Lynn Pennington

Diana Lynn Pennington was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 18, 1949 to Jack and Lorraine Pennington of Carney’s Point, NJ. Diana was the first of six siblings, followed by Karen, Sharon, Charles, Lesley and Jacqueline.

Diana attended Penns Grove High School and graduated in June 1968. Diana married Bruno Sinigaglio of Penns Grove on January 18, 1969. After High School Diana trained as a Pharmacy Technician and worked at the Daugherty Pharmacy until children arrived at which time she took up the occupation of stay at home Mom. Her first child, Buddy, arrived on March 21, 1970 and her second, Michael arrived on October 31, 1971.

Diana and her family moved to Delta Junction, Alaska in September, 1977, when Bruno accepted an engineering position at the US Army Cold Regions Test Center. During their five year stay in Alaska, Diana and Bruno became two of the eight founding members of the Delta Junction Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In 1982, the family transferred to Fort Lewis, Washington and began attending the Lacey Seventh Day Adventist Church. Diana welcomed two additions in Lacey when the boys First Cousins Franky and Jesse joined the family. There were many fond memories for the family at Olympia Junior Academy where Diana was a as a classroom volunteer Mom. In addition, Diana served for four years as a girls counselor for the Lacey Silverwings Pathfinders. Eventually Buddy and Michael went off to college at Walla Walla and in 1990, Diana went back to work as a cashier and Pharmacy Technician at Fred Meyer.

In 1995, Diana and Bruno moved back to Alaska when Bruno again accepted an engineer position at the US Army Cold Regions Test Center. They remained in Alaska, off and on, until 2016, when they moved to Tenino. In the fall of 2020, Diana and Bruno returned to Lacey. From that time until June 2022, Diana battled cancer and finally succumbed on June 30, 2022, when she contracted Covid 19.

Diana’s parents, Jack and Lorraine, her sister Karen and her brother Charles preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Sharon, Lesley and Jacqueline and by her immediate family Bruno, Buddy and Michael.

Diana listened to the animated discussions that Bruno and his Seventh Day Adventist Brothers and Sisters fostered over many years concerning the books Daniel and the Revelation, and she frequently remarked that she did not see the need for all those discussions. Diana said many times that she loved Jesus, and as far as she was concerned all she needed to know was that Jesus came to earth to reveal that God does not kill, but instead loves us, cares for us and saves us.

Diana’s Spiritual Gift was that of Hospitality as identified by three of her pastors. Diana always made everyone feel wanted and accepted. Her physical beauty was eclipsed by her spiritual beauty. Diana always placed others first and her family and friends witnessed her self-sacrifice throughout her life.

Diana’s favorite Bible passage was 1Cor 13:1-8.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor, and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Come celebrate 73 great years, Saturday 3-5 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where there will be a 5 p.m. service.
