David Skorko

David Skorko

For David, the fountain of youth was found in his children. Whether he was playing video games with them, helping coach their sports teams or challenging them to a game of wiffle ball, he always rekindled his childhood spirit through his kids. He was a true family man, and his feelings stretched beyond his own household. His in-laws were not outlaws, they were as close as his blood relatives. When it came to his father-in-law, there was never a task too big, and it was always done with a smile on his face. But when he found the time he could often be found rooting for the Eagles, Phillies, and despite never fully getting over the NHL lockout, he still loved the Flyers. rn In his younger days, David was foolish enough to stand up a date with a young woman named Jeanne (nee Coin). But, seeing the error of his ways, he would, eventually, get a second chance. Together, their lives were blessed by their children: Dana, DJ and Jenna. David is also survived by his siblings: Bill of Pennsauken, Judi Franks (Brett) of Richwood and Jim of North Jersey, his nephew, Jaden Franks and his father-in-law Harry of Willingboro.rn Come celebrate David’s 50 wonderful years (July 18, 1961-August 12, 2011) Wednesday from 9 AM at Calvary Church, 317 Conrow Rd, Delran, NJ 08075, where the service will be at 11. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Calvary Church. Arrangements by the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. rn

Jeanne, Bill and Dave’s Family, rnrnI was so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I will always remember the great times we had playing softball. Dave was crazy enough to play third base. His knowledge of Phillies trivia was amazing. Unfortunately, I will be out of town on Wednesday and unable to attend the service. May God grant you strength in these difficult times.
