Carol Morgey

Carol Morgey was a woman who lived with her hands in the earth and her heart open to everyone she met. A “mega-Grandma” and a selfless soul, she was the type of person who would host tea parties for her grandchildren where sprinkles were served as the main course and “Grandma rules” always applied. Whether she was decorating cupcakes with Lucy, cheering Ronald on at baseball games, making grilled cheese with Quinton, or orchestrating elaborate water-slide afternoons in her backyard, her grandchildren were the undisputed light of her life.

She was a fixture in her community, known for her meticulously kept garden. Her love for the Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles, and her lifelong devotion to the music of Bruce Springsteen. Her home was a sanctuary not just for her family, but for the neighborhood kids, cats, and anybody needing a safe space. Carol knew when there was a need. She remained a devoted daughter, never missing her daily 8:00 AM phone call with her 92-year-old mother, Joan. Carol was a woman of simple joys—a well-timed drought that kept the grass from growing too fast, a trip to a bluegrass festival, and the quiet satisfaction of helping anyone in need.

She is the wife of William Morgey “Bill” and is survived by her sons, Ronald (Jacqueline) and William (Chelsea); her mother, Joan Croce; her beloved grandchildren, Ron and Lucy, Quinton and Quadir. Siblings, Lois Grant, Blase Croce and Alexander Croce; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her father, Blase.

Come celebrate 69 great years, Tuesday, June 9, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Clonmell Methodist Church, 516 West Broad Street, Gibbstown, where there will be an 11:00 a.m. service. Interment private.
