Carol A. Barber

Carol A. Barber

NASCAR was in her blood: her Dad raced at Alcyon and Bridgeport Speedways and it was natural that she was smitten with the sport. Thirty six weeks every year she watched, attended or taped races. Family knew not to say anything bad about her boys, Dale Jarrett and Kyle Busch. For thirteen years straight she and Bill spent Memorial Day weekends in Indianapolis for the 500.rnIt took Carol a week of primping to get the Christmas Tree just so: it was the prettiest in Swedesboro. Holidays also brought about her “signature cake”, the infamous French Butter Cake. During difficult times she was a beacon of hope for her family. Fittingly, she collected lighthouses. Carol read mysteries until her eyes would close then she’d put the book down. She hardly ever had a cross word; if pushed she might tell you to “pound sand.”rnCarol met her husband on a hayride in the fall of 1958. She said goodbye to her date and she and Bill have been together ever since. Their union is blessed by daughters, Karen (John) Centonzo and Dawn (Gary Salus) Barber; 4 grandchildren: Kevin Borrelli, Alexis and Erika Flores and Bree Hansen.rnCome celebrate 67 great years Sunday 3-5 PM and Monday from 10 AM at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where there will be a service at 11AM. Interment Lake Park Cemetery. Donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1415 Rt. 70, Suite 311, Cherry Hill NJ 08034 or American Heart Assoc., 1 Union St., Suite 301 Robbinsville NJ 08691 will be appreciated.rn
