Barbara Hoffman

Barbara Hoffman

Barbara never missed a chance to socialize. Even during the days when she was running a house full with six children, she still found a way to make it to almost every social event at St. Peter’s, or for that matter, to any church that was hosting one. Saturday nights were always for dancing. As a teenager, she met her husband Chet at a dance, and up until recently she would still keep him on the dance floor until he was exhausted then trade him off for a new partner. This, though, was merely a reflection of her friendly nature. Born with the gift of gab, she made friends everywhere she went. But she was the most proud to have been a friend of Bill W for the past 25 years.rn Barbara is survived by her husband of 50 years, Chester, of Delran and is the mother of Jeffrey of Riverside, Christopher of Riverside, Debbie Wigmore (Don Clauso) of Audubon, Colleen Forgash (Gerald) of Delanco, Jennifer Roman (Rob) of Hainesport, Sharon Andress (Kurt) of Audubon and the late David. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and her great-grandson. rn Come celebrate Barbara’s 70 wonderful years (Sept. 20, 1941-April 26, 2012) Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 9-10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church (St. Peter’s Site), Riverside. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Samaritan Hospice 5 Eves Dr. Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.rn

Barbara.. oh how I will miss you!! I had the honer and privladge to have known Barb as my neighbor for eight years followed by my number one client in the salon where I work. She would come in and light the whole room up, striking conversations with all the people in the room that day. We shared so many wonderful stories over all the years in my chair. I will always remember her laugh, and the way she would slap her knee, when she was laughing. I truly loved her with all my heart, and she will forever be missed by me.

I do remember her from speaking at F troop several times. It is a special occasion when one of the Fellowship passes on. It is a celebration of a live well lived as opposed to those that die from our disease prematurely. She was loved by all of us and contributed I am sure to saving more lives than just her own. God speed and a prayer for the family that grief turn to joy. God bless.
