Ann L. Mingaila

Ann L. Mingaila

Ann treated the world like her family, and her family like gold. She was friendly and outgoing and always took an interest in those around her. During her 40 years at Sears in Philadelphia she was thought of as the “mom” of her buyers group. She enjoyed passing on family traditions and spoiling folks with her Lithuanian treats including her special sauerkraut, babka, kruschiki and kugela. When she was caring for her own husband in a long-term care facility she thought nothing of helping to feed the old folks there as well as take them gifts. Caring just came naturally to Ann. She loved to chit-chat and would strike up a conversation with anyone. For Ann, a stranger was simply a friend she had yet to meet.rn Ann is the wife of the late John Mingaila, as well as the late Henry J Olewnik. She is survived by her son Hank Olewnik (Bonnie), with whom she lived in Delran. She is the grandmother of Eric Olewnik and Lisa Gozdziewski (Konrad) and the great-grandmother of Austin, Justin and Dylan Gozdziewski. She is also survived by her brother, Felix Scafonas her niece, Patricia Corr, nephews, Ronald Corr and Tony Vanagas and her good friend Ethel Liczbinski.rn Come celebrate Ann’s 90 precious years (July 19, 1922-Jan. 18, 2013) Friday at 10:30 AM at a Memorial Mass at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church (St. Peter’s Site), Riverside. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Samaritan Hospice 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300 Marlton, NJ 08053.rn
