John W. Grover

John W. Grover

rn John may have had more one-liners than Henny Youngman. If you asked him how he felt, “with my hands” he’d reply. At his home in Riverside, he could often be found enjoying the day from his porch. And you were always welcome to join him for a chat. His music taste was always country, but he would dance to anything, including the twist. His favorite mode of transportation was his bicycle, mainly because he could keep his dog, Ivy, in the front basket. And all knew that where he went, his pooch was with him.rn John is survived by his sisters Dorothy Anderson, Ella Nerod, Ann Ward and Eva Hurst, and his close friends Tim Leap, George Middleton, Dottie McCloski, Marie Rizzo and his beloved pooch, Ivy. He is predeceased by his wife Edna, his parents John Grover and Anna Mae Perrine Grover (Lewis), his brothers Charles and Joseph Grover, Robert and Leonard Perrine and his sister Jean Powell.rn Come celebrate John’s 78 wise-cracking years (12/16/1932-4/7/2011) Thursday from 7PM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where the service will follow at 8. Interment private.rn
