CURRENT CELEBRATIONS
Donald Cummings
Donald Cummings
As a dad he was devoted to his kids, filling weekends with laughter and fun. Don was one of those parents who loved taking them around to all their sporting events. He earned a living with his hands; a craftsman with meticulous results. He had learned his woodworking skills from the Amish and plied his trade with Matteo Family Kitchens. Donald was most at home in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, always a dog at his side. He was one of the few who could survive off the grid. He once ventured so far into the wilderness that Canadian Mounties had to alert him that he’d wandered out of the U.S. He cheered mostly for Philadelphia teams but made an exception for the Giants, as he had grown up close to their summer training camp. Don loved Nascar (and watching just about any sport), playing cards and golf.
He is survived by his children: Brianna Cummings, Christopher Cummings and Jonathan Cummings; his mother, Anna L. (Kenneth) Hollinger; his siblings, Frank (Lynn), Branda (Frank) Arico, Lynn (Mike) Baran, Sherrill (Jim) Beatty, Debbie (John) Countey and Joel Fishbein; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William Cummings, father Frank L. Cummings, and his stepmother, Laurelle.
Come celebrate 58 great years Wednesday May 20, 4-7 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Highway, Swedesboro where there will be a 7 p.m. storytime service.
