David William Glanfield
David William Glanfield, 61, of Woolwich, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026.
David was the devoted and loving husband of Danielle (Richetti) Glanfield; a proud and loving father to David William Glanfield Jr. and Joseph Douglas Glanfield; and the beloved son of Edward J. Glanfield and the late Rosemary J. (Knaff) Glanfield of Collingdale, PA. He is also survived by his six siblings: Patricia Gregorio (Dominic), Michelle Novak (Thomas), Edward Glanfield (Joyce), Rosemary McLaughlin (Thomas), Renay Sweeney (Patrick), and Michael Glanfield.
Dave began his career as a design engineer for Lockheed Martin in the Space Division and later worked for DePuy Synthes, where he designed replacement medical implants. Although he was proud of his professional accomplishments, his true focus was always on family and community. Over the last 30 years, at almost any gathering, he could be found surrounded not only by his own children, but also by many of his eighteen nieces and nephews. In recent years, he continued to shower his thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews with the same love and affection. Dave did not limit his love for children to family alone; he also shared that generosity with his community by creating and organizing an annual toy collection float for the Swedesboro, NJ, Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Dave’s circle of friends was as wide and varied as his many interests, spanning from his early adulthood to his newest extended family at Bayberry Cove. Countless hours spent happily on the golf course and fishing from his boat, often bringing those worlds together by organizing an annual golf trip that began with a day on the water. His trips united friends from the community, 54th street in Ocean City, work, and family. To Dave, friendship and family were deeply connected; if you were his friend, you were family, and his family welcomed his friends as their own.
He also shared many motorcycle trips with the like-minded members of the Lexington Hill Motorcycle Club (LHMC), that he started. He combined his love of riding with his passion for the local community by organizing bike escorts for veterans and for the arrival, in Swedesboro, of a steel beam from the World Trade Center.
Dave was never happier than when he was with Danielle and their sons. Over the years, he coached and mentored the boys through every stage of their lives. He shared with them his talent for building, fixing, and repairing, and he lovingly helped create the bathroom of Danielle’s dreams. He cherished, most of all, the quiet times the four of them spent in Bayberry Cove in Marmora, NJ. Whether on the beach or on the water, it did not matter; it was time with those he loved that mattered most. While all of these things were important to Dave, above all else was the love he held for his wife of 25 years. He never missed a day of telling her that she was the love of his life and the most important person to him, even more than his ever-present toothpick.
