Carmela Virginia “Til” Tedesco of Riverside passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Samaritan Hospice, Mount Holly.rnCarmela was born Feb. 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena (D’egriola) Iannuzzi on Annin Street in Philadelphia. Carmela’s family relocated to Riverside, where her father established himself as a designer/tailor, and where Carmela grew up and attended elementary school and Riverside High School.rnShe inherited her father’s sewing talents and often sewed dresses for her sistersrnOn Jan. 31, 1942, she married the love of her life, Joseph Tedesco, and they were married for 69 years until his death in August of 2010.rnThey especially enjoyed many wonderful days at the New Jersey shore with family and friends. Although Til and Joe had no children, their nieces and nephews were a special part of their lives. Til’s favorite hobbies were gardening, cooking, and enjoying luncheons and shopping with her sisters and friends.rnTil is survived and will be deeply missed by her sister, Louisa Philomena Proscia; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rachel Catherine Mazzei, Angeline Mary Baiocchi, Sarah Legnaioli, and Adeline Villarei; and her brothers, Samuel Joseph, James Francis, Edward Albert, and Lewis Iannuzzi.rnA viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery.rn
