Kim marched to the beat of her own drum. From always having her nails painted a different color to wearing the most stylish jewelry, she had a way of expressing herself that was uniquely her own. She took great pride in her home, especially her garden. Her backyard looked like something out of Better Homes & Gardens, and her houseplants thrived year-round, even through the winter, keeping her home lush and full of life.
Holidays held a special place in Kim’s heart. Thanksgiving was hers to host, and she lovingly prepared meals for her entire family each year. Christmas, however, was her favorite. Christmas music filled her home as she decorated every nook and cranny, with her tree shining brightly all December long, a memory her children will always hold close.
As a mother, Kim cherished being creative. She loved doing crafts and often made clothes for her children. Needlepoint and sewing were among her many talents. She also had a spontaneous side, taking her daughter on random shopping trips was never out of the ordinary.
At home, Kim could often be found watching the news, a morning talk show, or Judge Judy. Later in the day, she’d switch to true crime shows like CSI. Her all-time favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz, and when she picked up a book, it was usually a novel by Danielle Steel. If the radio was on, you could count on hearing Aerosmith. When she wasn’t at home, she enjoyed simple day trips to the beach. Kim was an animal lover, always fond of dogs and cats.
Later in life, Kim found her greatest joy in being “Mommom.” She never missed a holiday or birthday without sending cards to her children and grandchildren.
Kim is survived by her father William Newton Sr, her brother William “Butchie” Newton Jr, children, Lauren (Kane) Dickinson and Tyler Stiles; her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Allison, Anson, Freya, and Lily; along with many loving relatives and friends.
Services for Kim will be held privately by her family.
