Gary Lawrence Farina

Gary Lawrence Farina

Caring by nature and always eager to help, Gary was the kind of person who would drop anything to lend a hand. He had a thoughtful heart, a quick wit, and a creative spark that made him one of a kind. If there was food involved, Gary was happy. Nesquik chocolate milk, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and most famously, asking his daughter, “Courtney… when are you making cheesecake?” He simply loved to eat.  Gary took pride in yardwork, doing it with such precision it looked professionally done. He enjoyed all types of fishing and could spend hours out on the water. Holidays were a special kind of joy for him. Music filled his days, he enjoyed the Arctic Monkeys, and he loved watching the History Channel and South Park. Gary loved the Chicago Bears and Cubs despite years of a losing record. Gary treasured time with his family, especially setting up lawn ornaments, most notably his big blow-up turkeys for Thanksgiving, with the kids. His heart held a deep and lasting ache for his brother Ernie, whom he missed terribly but has once again rejoined.

Gary is survived by his daughter Courtney Farina and Son-in-law Daniel Scully; mother and stepfather Debbie and Mark Griffin; his grandmother: Else Farina; his aunt: Sharon Farina; Cousin Kimberly (Jerome) Williams and cousins Athena, Jerome III. and Karina, his brother Christopher Kotch and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Ernie Bryan III, and grandparents Lawrence (Larry) and Theresa Farina along with many other loved ones.
