Mike Ruppert

Mike Ruppert

It was impossible to enter a room and not know Mike was there. He made his presence known between his sarcastic jokes, banging of his hammer, or muttering that he does everything around the house. Mike was rarely static; rides with his buddies in the Camden County Hogs, holiday decor around the house, bartender at the tiki bar in his backyard, or simply helping someone fix something broken. He was well known in his family as the “Energizer Bunny”, he was always up to something, even at his extremely slow pace. He was selfless: he took care of everyone in the family, especially his wife Traci, even coloring her hair! They met through friends years ago, and when they both agreed on a Vegas wedding, they up and went with Elvis marrying them. Mike and Traci traveled around the country following Nascar Races, especially to Daytona, one of Mike’s favorite places. Holidays were Mike’s favorite, Halloween decor covered the house with skeletons and a gargoyle on top of his roof, and every Christmas, Mike and Traci’s home was lit up with different colored lights of Mike’s choosing, and inside would be filled with the aroma of Mike’s famous Christmas prime rib. Mike worked as a Senior Superintendent at Triad Construction for many years and he’d always show up to a site with his Dunkin’ latte in hand. Mike was always happy to head to a friend’s house for someone else to do the cooking, but no matter how good the meal he’d still complement them with an “eh, not bad”. Mike was constantly in the kitchen preparing all types of delicious meals, always sneaking little pieces down to Hootie. When he wasn’t doing something inside the house, you could find Mike outback in his mansheds, in the garage admiring Cinderella, his dodge challenger, or on his roof.

Mike is predeceased by his parents Paul and Eliane Ruppert, and his brother Mark Ruppert.

He is survived by his wife Traci, his children Michael (Andrea) Ruppert, Amy Ruppert, Haley (Cory) Dolan, and Carly Elliott, his grandson Michael, his siblings Denise (Don) Spence and Debbie (Jim) Morocco, his in-laws Terri Taylor and Anthony Borrelli, his little buddy Hootie aka Huey, and his best friend Roy Dominguez, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 19th from 1pm-5pm at the VFW Gibbstown, 743 W Broad St, Gibbstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, Traci asks that you please go out and donate blood, plasma, or platelets.
