Eddie lived for sports; a passionate fan of the Phillies and Eagles. When the Phils hit a homer he’d send pics of him ringing his miniature Liberty Bell. If he didn’t like what he saw he’d be posting his displeasure on Facebook. He played 3rd base for Kingsway (Class of ’83) following in the footsteps of his hero, Mike Schmidt. He had learned to play the game under his father’s tutelage when he coached Little League. He kept a small group of friends his whole life through, competing with many of them in baseball fantasy leagues. If his T.V. was on, he’d probably be checking out some wrestling (WWE) and he loved the music of the 80’s, especially Journey. Nothing made him smile more than the sight of his nieces and nephews; they had a way of getting him out of his shell. He learned to cook from his parents and was terrific behind the stove. His neighbors loved his dishes from afar, the smells wafting down the hallways, though his mother found his tastes to be a little on the spicy side. In high school he worked for several area farms and later for True Value in Swedesboro and Walmart.
He is survived by his siblings, Mark (Robert) Lord-Schell, Jacquelyn (Kenard) Lloyd, and William; his aunts, Emily Bunton and Catherine Hemphill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin L. Lord Sr. and Mary P. Lord.
Come celebrate 60 great years, Wednesday April 23, 6-7 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where there will be a 7 p.m. service. Donations in lieu of flowers to American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) will be appreciated.

Ed was a great man, and you will be missed sir! Ed and I were part of a circle of friends who had so many great times together. Movie nights, parties, camping trips! Ed stepped up to bar tend when I bought my house, boy that was a night! One year a bunch of us went camping, I didn’t have a tent, but Ed had space in his. It was after dark when we arrived and ended up camping in what became a river bed the during the storm! What a trip! We cooked! Ok, Ed cooked and I ate. Ed and those steaks with baked potatoes, they were simply the best. Oh, we will miss those for sure. Ed was good with tools; he was always helpful in building stuff for the group and props for parties. My car window broke one year and Ed rode with me on a group trip, dude I still feel bad about the arm sunburn you got… I know Ed remembers the 3AM poker game when we carried the cooler up a flight of stairs, he had the low end I the top. We didn’t know all the ice melted and Ed and the stairs got a bath! I still laugh about that one Ed! I’m not a big sports fan, but I always knew when the game was on as my FB news feed was overflowing!! You were awesome, you will be missed my friend. – Jimbo
