Michael Ilconich Jr

Michael Ilconich Jr

Mike was stylish, hair perfect, dark tan and always sporting a little bling. Even his grandkid’s friends commented that their grandpop was iced out. Family was most important; Mike was a rock during the toughest times. He taught his boys about the need for respect: for your family, your friends and, most importantly, for the women in your life. It didn’t matter what you said, it mattered what you did, and he led by example; Mike worked harder than anyone. Sick or well he’d he off to pound tin with Local 19. But he found his real calling late in life: grandfather. Mike was a fixture on the sidelines of all the grand’s games. Around the house he could fix just about anything, and his lawn was the envy of the neighborhood. If he got out of the area, he’d probably be heading down to Pine Haven Campground to relax and do some fishing and crabbing in Sea Isle.
Behind every great man is a great woman. Mike met a pretty girl ordering a sandwich when he was running a steak shop: 2 years later he and Ellen wed. They’d share a 60-year marriage blessed by three children: Dean (Heather), Chris (Lori) and the late Dawn; and later by grandchildren Jake and Chloe. He is survived by his brother, Charles, and many nieces and nephews.
Come celebrate 85 great years Monday, May 22, 10-11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt. 73 South, Marlton where there will be an 11 a.m. service. Interment private
