Growing up, his father’s job found him living in many states. Mike had no choice other than to be well rounded. He started his life in Port Arthur, Texas. Like the Desperado, as a young man he was out riding fences. But he also had his cultured side: Mike fooled around with a guitar, teaching himself to play. Though he felt he never mastered his Gibson, it was the perfect tool for meeting people: everywhere from church events to town gatherings you’d find him playing. He served our nation in the Navy and when discharged joined his parents living in Paulsboro. There, while walking down the street, a pretty girl named Ruth Archut caught his eye. It was love at first sight. They’d marry a short time later, settling in Daretown. Mike would join the volunteer fire company and become a Boy Scout Leader. He worked at the DuPont Repauno plant and later at a nuclear power plant as an engineer with Raytheon Co.
He and the late Ruth were blessed with 5 children: Teri Figarola, Karen Northorp, David Lipscomb, Dawn Marie Ludwick and the late Bonnie Sue Wolfe, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Come celebrate 82 great years Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. at Pittsgrove Baptist Church, 368 Daretown Rd.. Daretown where there will be a service at 11am. Burial in the Church Cemetery.

I was saddened to read of the loss of Mike, your loved one.
When we lose our loved one in death it is the most difficult
time in our life. However, there is loving
comfort in Psalms 55:22 “throw your burden on God
and he will sustain you..” Yes, no matter what you are facing
God is there to help you get through it. May you continue to
have the love and support from family and friends. I sincerely
hope that this Bible message brings you
a measure of comfort during this difficult time.
