Jennifer Folk

Jennifer Folk

She was born on mischief night and it showed; Jen was always a prankster. Co-workers were likely to find their offices coated in Vaseline. She was always up for a playful food fight. Always the social butterfly, if Jen wanted you to stay past your shift, your car keys would go missing. She had a love of fireworks: “Duck and cover!” she’d holler as her backyard would erupt in fire. Of course it was all just part of her fun loving nature: she’d throw a backyard party at the drop of a hat just to see her daughters smile. Jen was that kid in school who was excited when the teacher announced a project. Creativity came easily. She’d use her abilities later in life as a manager at the Ark Road Shop Rite Bakery. She loved to fish and caught all the trout her father couldn’t. Eight and a half months pregnant with her due date fast approaching she could still be found with a rod in her hand.

Jen is survived by her daughters, Jenica and Gabriella Gravano; her parents, Woody and Joan Folk, brothers, Brian and Tim Folk and several nieces and nephews; and many victims of her pranks, better known as her friends.

Come celebrate 37 fun loving years, Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Riverside. Interment Oddfellows Cemetery, Burlington.

I first mwt jen shortly after she was diagnosed I had no idea that she had that nasty disease. Jenn always had a kind word to say and a smile on her face. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever encountered. Even on a bad day she still had a kind word to say and never complained. She will be aurely missed by all of the lives she touched. I guess the heavens needed the most beautiful angel god could find. R.I.P Jenn. ….until we meet again

Jen was the nicest most kind hearted person in the world. She never failed to make me laugh. She was so funny. I worked with her at shoprite, she was so fun loving when she told me she had cancer I was shocked. Jen, just keep looking down on your daughters.

    Jen,
You taught me so much; from making a chrysanthemum out of icing to patience with your crazy driving! To me, you weren’t Jen who has cancer, you were and still are Jen, my friend…funny, bubbly, anxious, creative, sloppy, and quick-witted! I can’t thank you enough for all the life lessons I’ve gained from you. I promise to tell anyone and everyone your story. Don’t be a stranger!! ❤️❤️❤️

I read the obituary about the loss of your loved one and I extend my
sincere condolences. Death is truly an enemy but there is comfort
in the Holy Scriptures that “God will actually swallow up death
forever and certainly wipe the tears from all faces.” Isaiah 25:8

Hold onto the beautiful memories of Jen and find comfort
    from loving family and friends.

Our deepest sympathies are with you at this difficult time. It’s been a very long time since we got to see Jenny, I believe one of last times I seen her was at the hometown farmers market, but people move on and go their separate ways. I didn’t realize she was living in New Jersey and then I came across her name on Facebook and I was glad I was able to chat with her a few times Jenny always had a smile on her face and she was one of my best childhood friends. We became friends because her mom Joan was mine and my sister, Carla’s babysitter. It’s so sad such a young life taken so soon Again so sorry for your loss. Take care and God bless all of you!
    Sincerely,
Sherry (Edmondson) Bynon, Carla (Edmondson) Najarro, and Marian and Sean Hegarty

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jen the past few year through coaching Jenica in cheer. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met and always seemed so upbeat and positive despite her disease. She was taken far too soon. My heart breaks for Jenica and Gabby as I can’t imagine what they must be feeling losing such and important person in their lives. RIP Jen – you will surely be missed by all.

  12. Heidi Eagles says:

Jen was one of the first people I connected with when I first started with Shoprite last year. It was a few months before I realized the battle she had been fighting. She was always smiling, always friendly and so very kind. She is one of those people you immediately feel comfortable with. Many were touched very deeply with her passing. Maybe because she was just too young and had so much more life to live and love to give. She was truly an angel on Earth and those that were lucky enough to cross her path, should feel very blessed.
