Charles Roberts

Charles Roberts

Bucky left little doubt that he was a patriot. Memorial Day found his house covered with flags and Charles listening to his patriotic songs. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Bucky served 12 years in the Corps and was a member of the Riverside American Legion and the Mount Holly Marine Corps Legion. As a father he was the ultimate role model, always stressing that his kids needed to be the bigger person. He was a hands on Dad, and was the leader of Boy Scout Troop 19 in Delanco. Charles loved camping, country music, (but not the pop country from today), and rooted for the Giants and the Mets. He worked for many years as a machinist at U.S. Pipe in Burlington.

Charles is survived by Jacqueline, his wife of 51 years; daughter, Dawn Marie Antico; step-son, Hank Zickler; grandchildren, Charissa Montgomery, Kristin Bohnberger, Kasey Furth and Michael Antico; 5 great grandchildren and sisters, Ruth Esworthy, Irma Fithian, Judy Loveland and Nancy Grafton. Pre-deceased by his son, Michael.

Come celebrate 78 patriotic years Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 9-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a 10 a.m. service. Interment Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
