Renee Vonderkall

Renee Vonderkall

Renee (Richardson) Vonderkall of Edgewater Park died on August 2, 2013, surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer. She was 62.

Born in Camden, NJ, Renee was a lifelong area resident. She held a variety of jobs, sometimes two at a time. She worked for Quinn Interiors until its closing and then opened up Sunset Carpet, which she owned for 15 years.  She most recently worked for Jonathan’s Heating & Air Conditioning.  Renee was an astute businesswoman, with a great sense of humor and plenty of sass.  She was an extraordinary gardener and her beautifully landscaped yard showed how much she loved working with plants and flowers. Spending time with family and friends, especially the children, brought her great joy.

Twice in recent years, Renee put her own life on hold to care for her siblings; first for her younger sister Dena, who died in 2010, and then for her older brother, George, through his surgery and recuperation. Her expert health care helped save George’s life at one point during his recovery.

Renee’s determination while fighting her illness allowed her to see both of her children married during separate, beautiful backyard weddings in May. She was so excited watching her son Jerryd marry his longtime girlfriend Elaine early in the month and then had the joy and pleasure of walking her daughter Krista down the aisle to wed her longtime boyfriend Ronnie.

Predeceased by her mother, Anne Richardson, and her sister, Dena Richardson, Renee is survived by her children, Krista (Ronnie) McIntosh of Lumberton and Jerryd (Elaine) Sack of Gloucester City, her brothers, George Richardson of Kissimmee, FL and Wayne (MaryAnn) Richardson of Haddon Township; her grandsons, Zackary Rockhill and Payton and Caiden Buckley; her nieces, Dr. Debra Lynn Richardson and Denise Richardson; her nephews Christopher (Lee Ann) Richardson, Douglas (Michelle) Richardson, and Gary Richardson; cousins Joan (Rich) Liversidge of MD and Jaqueline (Frank) Harrington of Haddon Township and other cousins; and friend and former sister-in-law, Linda Richardson of Palmyra.  She is also survived by special friends, Lisa and Mike Kempton, Mary Colandrea, Terri Pagani, Toyna May, Pat, Carl, and Brian, the Rushing family and a wide circle of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at FirstUnitedMethodistChurch, 32 Conrow Rd, Delran, NJ.  The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at HarleighCemetery, 1640 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Renee’s name may be made to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or First United Methodist Church, attention Basin & Towel Ministry, 32 Conrow Rd, Delran, NJ 08075.

Renee: Your strength, confidence and courage to speak your mind set an example for many of us growing up in Willingboro back in the days when such things were less well accepted. Your smile will be missed but your unselfish generosity will live on in all the lives you have touched. Eternal peace to you, it is truly deserved.

Mom..I think about you every single day and I know that you are watching over us during our time of strife and challenge and celebrating with us during times of happiness and joy. But life has never been the same since the day I found out you were sick and only had a few months at most to complete your bucket list.. Which we did most of!! I came across my wedding dress last month and just held it up reloading the memory of you gathering all of your strength to help me get it on and get ready… If I would have known what I had to sacrifice for another 24 hours with you, I would gladly give up what was asked of me for seven one more day with my Mom. Is such an underrated loss and deep grief whether there is closure with each situation we ever had or whether there isn’t… Even knowing you could have been at total peace, it makes and made nothing easier about it whatsoever. Annie Belle and you must be up there giving those other angels quite a run for their money!! Zack has had his share of grief and challenges over there years and is still not there dangerous since his Mom Mom went to heaven but he actually help us understand things about better about life if you just sit and listen to him. Oh my goodness he is so smart and so very handsome… You would loved his girlfriend…he said she reminds him off you because she’s used so highly structured and very organized lol. I lived that.. well..I hope that you are proud of me and all that I have overcome in these past few years. It has been the hardest thing of my life doing it all without anyone who you can truly lean on or rely on. But life goes on…and so will I. We love you until eternity… Love, your daughter Krista Renee’
